Phillip E. Adams, Jr.

Phil is a native of Alexander City, Alabama. He graduated from Auburn University and received his law degree from the University of Alabama School of Law. He was law clerk to Associate Justice Pelham Merrill of the Alabama Supreme Court. He served as Opelika City Judge for several years. Phil is a former President of the Lee County Bar Association. He has been very active in the Alabama State Bar serving as a member of the Board of Bar Commissioners for seven years and as Vice-President of the Alabama State Bar for two terms while serving as a member of the Board of Bar Commissioners. Phil also served as one of five statewide members of the Board of Disciplinary Appeals. He was honored to have been elected to serve as President of the Alabama State Bar. He is a Fellow in the Alabama Law Foundation. In addition to his service to the Alabama State Bar, Phil was elected to serve as a member of the House of Delegates of the American Bar Association. He is also a Life Fellow in the American Bar Foundation as well as a member of the Alabama Defense Lawyers Association, the Alabama Academy of Attorney Mediators, and the National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals.

Phil has been recognized by his peers as an outstanding lawyer. He has received AV Preeminent status for more than 30 years. He was recognized by Birmingham Magazine as one of the Best Lawyers in Alabama, listed in Best Lawyers in America in the speciality of Alternative Dispute Resolution, listed in Alabama Super Lawyers, Best Lawyers Montgomery Area Alternative Dispute Resolution, Best Lawyers Lawyer of the Year, Mediation-Montgomery, and Business Alabama Top Attorneys in Alabama. He is a registered mediator and concentrates his practice in that area, having conducted over 3,000 mediations state wide and in several other states since 1996. His experience as an attorney and an advocate has included representation of parties in some of the most complex and difficult cases filed in East Alabama.

He and his wife Chris have two sons, Josh and Kirk, and are the proud grandparents of two grandchildren.
