Michael is originally from Monroeville, Alabama. He received his undergraduate degree in business administration (marketing) from Auburn University in 1994 and received his Masters of Education from Auburn University in 1996. Michael then received his Juris Doctorate from Cumberland School of Law at Samford University in 2004, where he was the Associate Director of Mediation for the Trial Advocacy Board, as well as a member of the Alabama Defense Lawyer's Association. Michael joined the firm in 2004, becoming a partner in 2008.
Michael concentrates his practice on domestic relations/family law, criminal law and general civil litigation. Michael is an experienced family law attorney, representing clients in a broad range of divorce and non-divorce related family law issues. He also served as City Prosecutor in Auburn Municipal Court from 2004 to 2014. His experience in Municipal Court now enables him to effectively defend clients against various misdemeanor charges including DUI, DWI, drug charges, etc.
In 2007, the readers of the Opelika-Auburn News voted Michael the Best Lawyer in Lee County, Alabama.
Michael and his wife Bonnie have two sons, Brooks and Harrison. In his spare time, Michael enjoys Auburn University athletics and hunting.
